Lesson 5 Teacher View

Teacher Notes: Month-End Close and Reconciliation Updates

Same architecture as lesson 4: three in-class readings, comprehension, vocabulary with Spanish, interactive practice, speaking, writing, grammar, then homework with a fourth short reading. The theme bridges AP operations (lessons 2–3) and clear updates (lesson 4) into close-week discipline.

Timing (in-class) About 75–90 minutes for everything, or split readings + homework prep across two sessions.
Substitute / self-study Students can run A → B → C with questions, then vocabulary and practice; homework is written work with Spanish Part 4.
Main aim Learners describe small mismatches calmly, ask for evidence, and respect cut-off language without sounding aggressive.

  • cut off as noun → prefer cut-off or rephrase as deadline
  • False friends: actually vs currently
  • Reading numbers: reward answers that quote EUR amounts and times.
